13 to 19 April

Spent the week working from home as I was co-parenting my dogs. We had a lot of long walks, found a new park close to the flat and they ate some dog ice cream (ice cream for dogs, not made of dogs).

What went well

Had a rejuvenating meeting with two colleagues from Operations, Partnerships and Projects (OPPs) and it got me so excited for the work we’re doing on how to present fund information. I did a lot of desk research which they appreciated and we had a really good chat. I also left with a regular monthly slot with them in the diaries, which was great.

Following on from the chat with OPPs, I met with some digital colleagues to discuss how we can get the next phase (design and build) in motion. (This meeting was part of my new 30-minute-meeting trial where the meetings I arrange are, you guessed it, 30 minutes. I want to see how much we can achieve in shorter timeframes.) This half an hour was great, I love the minds I work with. Excited about this work.

Another thing that went well was, through great teamwork and communication, we managed to get a user survey out to applicants of the NETWORK short film fund. This survey aims to understand how users found the guidelines, the process and offers them a free text box to tell us what they’re thinking. Really looking forward to getting that data in.

Getting better at generating Google Analytics reports, and more importantly, using them to build knowledge of user behaviour and making design decisions.

Also did some cool work with Joe and Anna on he ticket booking journey stuff, really like when that comes back my way.

What could have gone better

I was at home all week which meant I didn’t get to the office, which always feels amiss. But did mean I got to watch a bunch of things.

Watching, reading and listening (and cooking)

🛋️ At home

Suspicion (1941) - Bit of a cop out ending ⭐⭐

Citizen Kane (1941) - Finally got around to watching this, spectacular ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Bicycle Thieves (1948) ****- Liked it but was depressing ⭐⭐⭐⭐

[🔴Rec]2 (2009) ****- Not a patch on the original ⭐⭐

The Innocents (1961) - Really spooky ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Return of the Living Dead (1985) - Sticking with the horror theme, pure 80s, loved it ⭐⭐⭐

Twilight (2008) - God awful, but something compels me ⭐⭐
