15 to 21 April

Another short week but packed a lot into it.

Writing this on Friday because I’m away on Monday. I’m going to be in Kent visiting my girlfriend’s parents. They have two little old lady dogs that I love.

Blossom is the staffie-looking one, and Betty is the Jack Russell (they think she’s also crossed with chihuahua).

What went well

The content design training session I did went really well. There was a good balance of conversation and theory and I just really enjoyed getting to talk about content design for an hour. Thankful I have a brilliant team around me that were enthusiastic and brought great ideas to it.

I published a blog on content design on the intranet! I actually wrote it ages ago and only stumbled across it the other day, so after some worthy feedback from colleagues, it got out there.

I’m in the process of setting up regular content crits within the team. I’m hoping this will curb the individual approach of asking people to check content or designs and make it more of a collaborative, community exercise.

I beat my PR for a 5k! Follow me on Strava if you’re on it!

What could have gone better

There’s a lot of work to do and I just hope I do it well.

I’ve started training to run 100 miles in May for Great Ormond Street Hospital. It’s proving tough to get out and do 5k every day, I need to strengthen my ankles I think.

Watching, reading and listening (and cooking)

🍿At the cinema

Civil War - I saw this in the IMAX which is a guaranteed 2 stars at least because it’s the IMAX. Dunst was great, Plemons was incredible, it was fine ⭐⭐⭐

🛋️ At home

Emily the Criminal - Plaza was good in this but it was quite a basic story ⭐⭐⭐

Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar - This was so stupid but so funny ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Batman Returns - Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman ⭐⭐⭐⭐
