What went well

Meeting heavy week, but they were all fruitful ones.

Met with NETWORK colleagues and spoke about how we can convey more of a story when it comes to funding short films. And it got me thinking about how we can use the website to craft this.

Had some good refinement sessions. My colleagues are all so smart.

Did two note taking sessions for our accessibility user research with Olivia. Really enjoying working closely with her on this, and speaking to users is one of my favourite things to do.

On Thursday I cycled to BFI Southbank to meet with the DCMS digital content designer, Amanda. She was brilliant and our allotted hour absolutely whizzed by. We shared a lot of similar stories, and turns out we’re working on some similar projects so we’re looking forward to leaning on each other a bit more in the future!

The cycle route I took from North Greenwich to Southbank, ignore the two small spikes (wrong turns).

What could have gone better

My ADHD and I have been at loggerheads this week. Every time I sit down to write more of my user survey report, I feel my brain reaching for almost anything else to do. It’s the equivalent of sitting at the dining table doing your homework while a frustrated parent sits with you. You’re not playing Playstation until the conclusion is written!

Watching, reading, listening, cooking

📚 Books on the go

Finished How to Hide an Empire. Continuing with A Day of Fallen Night.

Really getting into urban planning recently, so am researching books to do with that. I was a big fan of Municipal Dreams: The Rise and Fall of Council Housing, so if anyone has any similar recs, I would love to hear them.

🛋️ At home

Irish Wish (2024) - If this was a Christmas film, I would have loved it ⭐

I really need to watch a good film soon or I’ll die.

💻 Articles and blogs

A great article on stakeholder relationships and management by my old GDS colleague Jan Van de Ban: Stakeholder engagement: Be an enabler not a blocker. She’s actually got a lot of great blogs on good stakeholder management and content design on her website.

I feel like I may have shared this before, but it always bears repeating: People don’t read online - they scan.
