May was a mix of steady progress and connecting the dots. I’ve continued with Southbank and IMAX content, with a big focus on access. I’ve been keeping conversations going with other stakeholders even though things aren’t on fire! Much like building muscle, the rest days are when real strength grows.
In my personal world, I drank a cocktail out of Winston Churchill’s head at Cahoots. And went to the National Maritime Museum as part of my latest obsession with 1800’s naval history, pirates, Napoleon and Nelson. They’ve got a Pirates exhibition on that I really want to go to.
I’ve finalised the last draft of our access content, and this has now gone to the subject matter experts for a review. I’ve also started having some good conversations with the programming team to discuss the future of our access offer at the BFI. Exciting times!
I’ve also been looking at filters, footers and the food and drink offer at our venues. These areas might not be the flashiest, but they’re where small content choices make a real difference to our user’s ability to get what they need, quickly and comfortably.
Spoke at our digital catch up, and took part in a show and tell where I got to talk all about the content design areas of the digital programme work. I love sharing content design practice and demonstrating what it means with others. Can you tell from my gesticulations?
I’ve been catching up with teams that I’ve worked with in the past, even if there’s no current live work.
It's easy for communication to drop off once a piece of work is "done," but I find real value in keeping those relationships warm, as it's often where better future work starts.
Went to our Gaydon site, was very cool!
