Three weeks since my last note - time for an update!
I’ve been digging into the previous content inventory I did and exploring the tools Help Scout, Microsoft Clarity and SiteImprove to get a broader understanding of the content issues that we’re facing for the main website product (bfi.org.uk).
Overall, we’re not doing too badly - according to SiteImprove we score 86.3% on content for bfi.org.uk. So I’m aiming to tackle this alongside the content strategy work.

I’ve been prepping for the next workshop with our wonderful digital production and content editors, intranet product manager, the director of digital services and products and the head of digital delivery and standards.
This workshop changed direction a few times during the creation of, but I’m happy with where it’s landed. As this area is just one part of the great BFI content machine, we’re working within our capacity, and our aim for the workshop is:

Our aim: To design an aligned content intake model that reflects user needs, editorial standards and each channel’s purpose
There are other elements of the workshop that are going to play into the conversations I have with stakeholders and the formation of a content strategy.
I’ve smashed the champagne bottle on the great ship Stakeholder Interviews and arranged my first intro chat with a Press team colleague. The aim is to talk through how they view content in their day-to-day, how they influence content, and what they need from content to make it work for them and their users.
I’ve been pulling together some ideas on how to present the user-centred changes we’ve made to our digital programme (thanks to an idea from Jeremy!). It’s been really nice to see the full range of research-informed changes we’ve made. I’m hoping to give a short presentation of these changes to our venue, programming and marketing colleagues soon…

A sneak peek of one of the slides in the presentation (’We’ve added ‘Screen’ before NFT, to make it clear it’s a screening room’
I’ve been doing some light work across the funding research, which has included looking at the prototypes that Anna has mocked up. I’m really looking forward to seeing the qualitative findings that come back from this work.
